Auckland Schools’ Debating (ASD) is responsible for promoting debating in secondary schools across the Auckland region in order to promote free speech and thought. ASD organises New Zealand’s largest debating competition, and in 2018 we had 1500 students in 304 from 54 schools participate.
The organisation is run by a committee of volunteers, consisting of experienced members of the debating community and teacher advisors.
